CHOOSING A WARDROBE FOR YOUR baby SESSION
This is a guide to help you with ideas for what to wear for your session to help you create a timeless look for your images.
I recommend plain neutral colours like creams, whites and beige tones These create a classic look and work really well with the pallettes of my collection of items for your baby. The best advice is to keep it as simple as possibe and all try to wear light colours on top.
You can also wear black or navy but for my style of imagery white cream and natural beige tones will look best in images.
N.B Avoid patterns and logos. these can be distracting Go for block colours.
For mamas, a dress or blouse and skirt or pants is ideal and flowing fabrics like chiffon, lace, linens all work well in images.
For dads a white or cream or beige linen shirt, t shirt, or knitted jumper is recommended. If in doubt the white T-shirt, short or long sleeve is always good. Jeans or trousers are fine with this.
For siblings, for the boys, a shirt or plain t shirt is perfect, which can be teamed with a knitted cardigan or jumper. Again if in unsure a plain T-shirt on its own always looks good, and jeans or trousers work with these too.
For girls a dress is usually perfect, I would recommend with toddlers especially to wear tights underneath and choose a dress that isn't likely to rise up as their legs may kick out if they are lying down, so one with tulle or flowing layers to the bottom that will cover them if they move about.
If you don't have anything matching these descriptions don't worry, I can offer more advice on wardrobe and I am happy for you to send me images of wardrobe and I can help make recommendations if you wish.

PREPARING FOR YOUR BABY SESSION
Here is some information to help us to get the most of out time together.
What is most important during the session is that you get to enjoy quality time together, your connection and the emotion of the moment is what I aim to capture
Your session should be relaxing and enjoyable, and you don't need to do much to prepare for it.
Most sessions take place in a living room or bedroom with good natural light
Have the room will we be using nice and warm and clear of toys and any distracting items
If using a bedroom its good to have a white or cream bedspread on the bed.
Have if baby baby dressed in something easy to remove, like a button down front onesie
If you have other little ones have them dressed and ready for their pictures
Have a bottle of formula or expressed milk and a pacifier ready
A good feed before the session starts can really help to settle baby and set baby up for the session
My sessions are baby led and I aim to capture your baby naturally, awake or asleep
At this time I ask that just one parent is present in the room when I photograph baby on her own
If you have other siblings they can relax and play in another room until it is time for their pictures
Family and parents pictures are done usually after baby pictures and are done keeping social distance in mind
If you have any questions about anything at all please get in touch and I will be happy to answer them for you
COVID SAFETY GUIDELINES
Rest assured I take all precautions to ensure your safety and mine during sessions to minimise any risks
I attend all sessions fully masked and wash hands and sanitise regularly throughout the session
All props and items used during the session are thouroughly cleansed after the session with antibacterial products and rotated for minimal use
I only do baby sessions indoors at the moment. I do offer an outdoor newborn and baby session, please contact me for details if this is something that you would be more comfortable with.
DURING THE SESSION
Please sanitise all high contact areas where the session will take place and remove any unwanted items from the area.
All clients are asked to wear masks when I arrive and when I am photographing baby, these are removed for family photos
For baby focused images, only those being photographed should be present in the room.
If other siblings are present they can relax in another room until it is time for the family part of the session
Social distancing will be observed, except from when I am wrapping and positioning baby, unless otherwise requested. A zero contact session is also available please inquire for more details.
A covid waiver form is required as a standard procedure prior to the session.
If you or any of your family feel unwell or have come into contact with anyone with covid or a close contact please contact me immediately and we will reschedule your session to a safer time, and if there is an illness or close contact in my family I will postpone the session until such times the all clear is given.
